Worldview in the Wizard of Oz

What do you need to look for when searching for the worldview of a text. What is the worldview of the Wizard of Oz?

When one is searching for a worldview the idea lies behind the text in the author. Everyone is bias and has their own worldview, some are just more discrete about it. An authors life can show alot of how they were influenced and what thier views are. Also other works that an author has published can reveal ideas and their views. Over all the worldview of a text is based on the worldview of the author.

The worldview of the Wizard of Oz is Cosmic Humanism. This is because all of characters are searching for something that is meaningful to them. Dorthy wants to go home, Scarecrow wants a brain, Lion wants courage and the tin man wants a heart. All of the characters are searching for someting different, but they all take the same path to the so called "God". Cosmic Humanism is the idea that every path leads to God, and this is how the story is told.
